Work in progress

I was asked to replace one of a pair of dogs that had been stolen from a local church. Carved in oak and polished to match the original, these are the original and my copy in the workshop, and my copy in situ.

We recently finished a wonderful commission to carve a screen for Felmingham Church in north Norfolk. The screen is to create a room in the tower for use as a crèche / Sunday school, with bell ringing gallery above. The whole thing is carved from oak with a mass of tracery, painted and gilded. The little infil panels I designed with children in mind, pictures of nursery rhymes, children playing and animals. I had an owl swooping down on a little mouse crawling along a moulding  and other creatures hidden for the children to find. Some pictures below.
